Description

Brisa Bobtail Blade, Stainless 12c27, Scandi Grind

The ""Bobtail" is the newest blade from Finnish brand Brisa, somewhat longer than the Necker.

The blade is about 3.2 mm thick, about 25 mm wide and has about 80 mm of blade, total length 170 mm. The holes in the handle is 1/4" at the rear for optional lanyard tube and 4.6 mm at the front for 1/4" corby bolt or use handle pins in 1/8".

The blade is in Swedish 12c27 Stainless Steel with satin finish, combining with the EnZo build quality and attention to fit and finish, into a high-quality knife. The blade has the traditional Scandi Grind popular with bushcrafters for ease of sharpening and good control while whittling and carving. The short, sharp blade gives good control in a small package.

The knife is from Finnish company Brisa

    Great small Scandi

Posted by Paul S on 16th Apr 2023

My first Brisa & my first knife build. I got the kit & some micarta scales & g10 liners. Custom build, one of a kind. The pointy butt end is interesting but something you can round off it annoys you. The blade cuts timber like a scan should - like a beast & the smaller size lets my neck carry if I want. I would buy a 80crv2 version or a higher quality stainless version if they were offered but alas the smaller models from most companies are mid to lower tier stainless unfortunately. I use the buggery out of my small knives - can we get some better steels please. Overall though, very happy with this purchase & form the prompt service from the Nordic Edge team.
