Description

Brisa Borka 90 Folder (Scandi Grind, Green Canvas Micarta Scales)

The biggest folder in the Brisa family, the Borka 90 is as strong, full size field blade in a folding package.

The blade is 3.25 mm thick, about 90 mm long in powdered "super steel" N690Co with a strong backlock and scales in contoured Green Canvas Micarta and a traditional Scandi Grind. The blade has both a nail nick and thumb stud for one or two-handed opening. Significantly wider, stronger and heavier than the PK and the Birk, this is the one to bring to the woods. The mirror polished strong steel clip can be attached on either side, it comes ready as tip-down, right hand carry.

There is also an optional fitting leather sheath available.

From Brisa:

A folder designed for bushcrafting and heavier use than the Birk75 and PK70, with a distinct finger guard. The ergonomic contoured handle in canvas micarta will allow for comfortable use. The elegance, proportions and harmony in the lines as a trade mark for the Brisas, appears clearly in this model as well.

More details on N690Co steel:The European VG-10 equivalent.

N690Co, Stainless steel from Bohler-Uddeholm:1.07%, chromium 17%, cobalt 1.5%, manganese .40%, molybdenum 1.10%, silicon .40% and vanadium .10%.
The cobalt allows the creation of a very uniform structure within the steel. And when used in blade steel, this provides a fine and consistent edge, enhancing edge retention and sharpening receptivity.
