Description
Scandinavian small belt knife: Ahti Puukko Tikka 62
Great first knife with a short, sharp blade and a somewhat shorter handle from Finland.
Carbon steel blade with black forge scale left on the top section of the carbon steel blade with a traditional, sharp Scandi grind. Handle in darkened birch and with a good leather sheath, this is a great first knife or for someone with smaller hands looking for a short, sharp blade. A brass ferrule covers the transition from blade to handle.
The blade is in strong Böhler Uddeholm Vandium carbon steel, hardened to HRC 58-59 for good performance and edge retention. The blade is 62 mm long (about 2.5") and total length including handle is about 165 mm (6.5"). Leather sheath with decorations included. The knife has a strong through-tang construction with a brass end nut.
A classic Nordic belt knife, Ahti-puukko is proudly made in Finland in the traditional knife-manufacturing town of Kauhava in Ostrobothnia.
