Description
Brisa Leuku 180 Kit with Curly Birch Handle Block
Massive Scandinavian "Leuku" or "big knife" as used by the indigenous Sami living across the north of Norway/Sweden/Finland.
Often with a bulbous end to the handle to assist with use with thick mittens or gloves this is the "chopper" companion to the short, sharp belt knife carried at all times when out and about.
The Leuku is a traditional blade shape, this is the updated Brisa version with a thick 4 mm blade and a stronger tang/blade transition than what is available in for instance the Lauri Leukus.
The blade is in 80CrV2 carbon steel with 180 mm of blade length, scale from heat treatment is left on the blade but can be sanded off if desired.
The kit consists of
- Brisa Leuku 180 blade
- Curly Birch Super grade handle block
- Bolster R44
- Spacer material
The kit can be made into a great Leuku with simple hand tools.
