Description
Nordic Knife Design Forester 100 Blade, Scandi Grind, Carbon Steel 80CrV2
NKD is the knife brand of Dennis Holmbacka from Finland, mixing old Finnish knife traditions with new advancements in steel and design. The result is a unique combination of quality blades made in proven steels, often mixing traditional blade shapes and grinds with modern tang construction, carry options and weight distribution.
NKD Forester specificly designed for bushcrafting and hunting. The knife blade is thicker (4.2 mm) than a typical puukko or whittler, allowing for chopping braches beside the normal whittling tasks. As the handle weight is reduced by a large outcut the balance for the ready knife will become just right for the job out in the forest. The knife blade is covered by a surface from the heat treating process. This surface is not even black, but may be colored blue brown form the tempering process. This knife blade is furhtermore intended for use in the forest than for exhibition purpose.
The knife blade is manufactured from the German ThyssenKrupp carbonsteel 80CrV2.
A steel used for a long time in the traditional Finnish Puukko. The addition of V, Vanadium in the steel improves the thoughness and edge retention. Designed with a base of the blade as high as 25 mm, together with the curved drop point shape, enables for a wide variation of possibilities when making the handle.

NKD Forester 100 Carbon
Get the blade in the White , saves you a lot of work . Factory Scandi edge was very average ! After reprofiling / sharpening the performance was very good to excellent . 80crV2 carbon is impressing me , this is my 3rd blade in this steel and it's very much scratching that steel itch !
Value for money steel ! But get the blade in the white ( My 20c ) . -
NKD FORESTER 100 BLADE, CARBON STEEL 80CRV2, SCANDI GRIND
A fantastic little blade with a razor edge. It will make an excellent skeleton knife, with the handle done in paracord braid. Well done Nordic Edge!
