Ringed Gidgee Handle Block,

Gidgee is one of the hardest woods in the world, native to the inner, dryer sections of Australia. Not a very large tree, Gidgee is a slow-growing hardwood that is dense and heavy.

A handle block with figured or "ringed" gidgee, each approx 30 mm x 40 x 135+ mm.

These beautiful sets of "ringed gidgee" are selected pieces with the unique pattern across the grains so sought after by Australian knife makers.

Each block is somewhat different in colour and level of pattern but they are all similar to the photos.

Photos were sanded to 600 grits, given a quick run on a scotch brite belt and then had some UBHF applied to make them sparkle.

Sizes will differ between sets as the trees are not very large and only the best bits are kept for our use, but all are at least the size listed.
