Description
Silver Birch Block
Birch is a white-barked tree native to Europe, but also occasially planted in Australia. A hardwood with pale, attractive wood often used in Scandinavian furniture, flooring and as tool handles. Birch has no discernable heartwood, the wood is the same pale colour from the centre to near the bark where bark inclusions often provide variying colours from pale yellow to yellow/brown.
These are pieces of nice, pale birch and do not have the twisted grain and character of "curly birch", creating a white/yellow handle.
The pieces are about 30 x 44 x 125 mm in size.
