Beavercraft is a company in Ukraine specialising in tools for spoon carvers and wood workers, developing their own range of tools and kits. The blades are in high carbon steel, the handles in ashwood and finished in a traditional way with linseed oil. 

The kit also includes a leather strop and rouge for stropping the blades during use to keep them sharp longer between sharpening.

Right vs Left handed hook knife:

The hook knife is curved and sharpened on one edge only, so you can safely place the thumb on the top. This set is for a left handed person, meaning when the hook knife is held in the left hand, the thumb can be placed on the spine of the blade safely. (Doing this with the right hand on this knife would mean you place your thumb on the sharp cutting edge, generally not a good idea :)
