Set of 2 handle scales, each is about 9.5 x 40 x 120 mm in size. These are stabilised and polished, looking quite stunning even before working them!

As opposed to most hardwoods, the wood closer to the bark is the hardest. The outside wood has the most fibers and the striking black in tan appearance while towards the centre there are fewer and fewer of the black fibers, towards the soft centre. The grains are straight and has no visible growth rings, figuring or defects. These pieces are stabilised and ready to be used. Black palm can be difficult to work, the fibers can tear out and, requiring care when filing edges and corners. These are stabilised so the risk is less but care should be exercised.
