Canberra Knife Show 2023 Pictures
The team at Tharwa Valley Forge held the 2023 Canberra Knife Show on Sunday 3rd December 2023.
The show itself is held at the Cuppacumbalong Homestead part of TVF, a historic homestead in beautiful settings by the Murrumbidgee River, just outside of Canberra.
The weather was a bit mixed this year with some short showers during the day but mostly it was a sunny, pleasent day for all. The makers on the lawn were in the shade - and dry - under a big gazebo while talking to the crowds and showing off their knives.
The Canberra Show is a good show to attend, Nordic Edge (and formerly as Creative Man) have attended every year it has been on since 2015. Canberra Show in December 2015 was actually the first ever show we went to, and it has always been a good show.
Not only from the point of view of being a relaxed, fun day but also in commercial terms.
The show punches above it's weight in terms of sales of custom knives.
The crowd of 600 or so people who made their way out to Tharwa Valley know what they are there for, these are not random passers by who walk in to have a look. There are collectors, chefs, hunters, fishers and others who come out to spend time speaking with the makers themselves and possibly pick up another hand made knife.
The feedback from makers on the day was that this was not just our impression, it is a show well worth exhibiting at if wanting to test the waters due to being only one day and budget-friendly to book a table at.
