Von Gruff Knives - Damascus Blades from New Zealand
Garry Keown from Von Gruff Knives in NZ sent us a couple of snaps from his latest 2 blades.
These are blades to a customer's specifications in stainless steel damascus.
One is a full flat grind and the other is a sabre grind.
If wanting to check out more of Garry's work or discuss a custom build, check out http://www.vongruffknives.com/
An interesting point with these blades were that the Ferro Chloride etch normally done did not create very strong results, so Garry resorted to 7 mins in near-boiling hydrochloric acid to deliver the results.
