Fiebing's Gum Tragacanth, 4oz

 Used to slick leather edges in preparation of edge finishes. Gives a hard, shiny edge to cut veg tanned leather rather than the often hairy, ragged ends of cut leather.

 How to apply:

• use an edge beveler to cut the "corners" off the leather on both sides
• evenly spread out gum tragacanth with a woolen dauber on the edge (short side) of the leather
• while the gum is still slightly moist, rub it hard with an edge slicker (a piece of wood or plastic with a slit the same thickness as the leather), or a piece of canvas.
• this heats up the edge of the leather, lays the fibers down and slicks the edge
• you can now apply dye or edge finish to the edges of the leather and rub again
