Description
Hot Cut Tool for Anvil
An anvil tool for blacksmithing, available in 3/4" and 1" shank sizes. Made from cast steel.
A hot cut tool is used to cut hot steel to length or width, and can also be used to create slits in hot steel while forging.
To use, place the hot steel onto the hot cut and strike the workpiece from above, stopping before the hammer reaches the tool itself. The cut section can then be worked back and forth with tongs until it breaks free.
These tools are cast steel and may require some filing or grinding to sit flat and fit properly in your anvil’s hardy hole, as hardy holes and hardy tools are not always exactly to size.
Available sizes:
- 3/4" shank
