Powdered steel and other metals used in damascus making, casting of mokume gane, casting of guards and other metal crafting projects.

1084 Powder 5 Lbs (2.26 kg):

  • Powdered steel is used in the manufacture of canister damascus or forge welded steel.
  • This is "very fine" graded 1084 carbon steel from the US with approx 0.84% Carbon.
  • Comes in a metal paint tin air tight and sealed.

1095 Powder 5 Lbs (2.26 kg):

  • Powdered steel is used in the manufacture of canister damascus or forge welded steel.
  • This is "very fine" graded 1095 carbon steel from the US with roughly 0.95% Carbon.
  • Comes in a metal paint tin, somewhat dented but air tight and sealed.

Nickel Powder 1 Lbs (425 grams) in metal can:

  • Nickel powder is used as a highly contrasting layer in forge-welded or damascus steel.
  • Because the nickel does not etch, it will be a bright, shiny layer after etching.
  • Nickel does not harden and needs to be kept away from what will be the cutting edge.

15N20 equivalent 5 Lbs (2.26 kg):

  • 1080 + 2% Nickel Powder 5 Lbs (similar to 15N20)
  • Powdered steel mixed for making canister damascus to replicate the shiny look of 15N20 by adding very finely powdered 15N20 to 1080 carbon steel.
  • Note this is not 15N20 steel in powder form but a mix of 1080 with added nickel powder.
  • Pre-mixed Powder Metal for 1080 Carbon+ Nickel Damascus and Mosaic Projects. The 2% mix is is similar in composition to 15N20.
  • This very fine metal powder is a 325 mesh (like talcum powder).
  • The mix is 2.0% Nickel, 0.80% Carbon, Remainder Fe (Iron)

Bronze Powder 2 LBS: 

  • Typical Chemistry in %: 89.7 Cu, 10.1 Tin, 0.75 Lubricant. 
  • These 325 mesh metal powders are perfect for creating your own mokume, adding inlays, or cold casting parts for your next project.

Copper Powder 2 Lbs:

  • Typical Chemistry: 99.6 Cu, 0.60 Lithium Stearate (0.21 H loss)
  • These 325 mesh metal powders are perfect for creating your own mokume, adding inlays, or cold casting parts for your next project.

Brass Powder 2 Lbs:

  • Typical Chemistry: 78.5 Cu, 20.75 Zn, 0.375 Lithium Stearate, 0.375 Zinc Stearate.
