Description

Woodworkers Drawknife With Leather Sheath and contoured handles in oak

A draw knife is a a blade with handles at each end, used to when making spoons, chair legs, archery bows and other woodworking objects. The work piece is fastened in a vice, a spoon mule or otherwise held firm so both hands can be used on the drawknife.

This is a drawknife made in Ukraine with a sharp 120 mm long blade in carbon steel and contoured handles in Oak that are finished with traditional linseed oil.

Each handle is 120 mm long, the blade is 2 mm thick and total length is 360 mm. The drawknife comes with a protective leather sheath.

Note the blade is 2 mm thick and 120 mm long, this is a drawknife made for finer work, removing shavings from smaller projects and not built for removing bark and rough hewing tree trunks. These shorter, lighter drawknives are also used as "push knives" for instance when making Kuksa cups in wood.
