Ziricote Wood Handle Scales x 2

Ziricote or Cordia dodecandra is a striking handle material, with dark stripes in medium to dark brown heart wood. 

This is a set of 2 scales, each  is about 10 x 40 x 120 mm and as always with natural materials there may be hidden voids or cracks we missed when inspecting them, but we do inspect every piece.

Ziricote has a very unique appearance, which is sometimes referred to as “spider-webbing” or “landscape” grain figure. A high-density wood but fairly easy to work still, it has a distinct smell while working. Some very nice musical instruments are also made in Ziricote, see example photo of a guitar in the photos.

As with all wood, PPE is required when working with Ziricote to avoid breathing in the dust created which can cause health issues over time.
