4 Piece Diamond Leather Stitching Punch / Chisel Set – 2mm Stitch Spacing (Approx. 3.7mm Prong Centre-to-Centre)

Stitching chisels for making leather sheaths, watch straps, wallets, and other leather projects.

This set includes 4 chisels with 1, 2, 4 and 6 teeth, covering the most commonly used sizes for leather stitching.

The teeth punch diamond-shaped slits that help the leather grip the thread and close neatly around it, creating an even and attractive stitch line.

How the sizing is measured

This set is sold as 2mm stitch spacing.

When used in leather, the spacing between the finished stitch marks / holes is approximately 2mm.

If you measure the tool itself from the centre of one prong to the centre of the next prong, it is approximately 3.7mm.

This difference is due to the shape and angle of the prongs. The tool is named according to the resulting stitch spacing in leather, not the physical centre-to-centre measurement of the prongs.

Important
If you are measuring the chisel itself and need a tool with 2mm centre-to-centre prong spacing, this is not that size.

Notes

• For best results, polish the teeth so they release from the leather more easily.
• Use a soft mallet, not a metal hammer.
• A light dip in leather balm or wax can help the teeth release more cleanly.

How to use

1. Mark your stitch line or groove.
2. Place the leather on scrap leather or a suitable punching surface.
3. Punch straight down.
4. For the next punch, place the first tooth into the last hole to keep spacing consistent.
5. Use fewer teeth around curves for better control.
