Pre-Hardened Stainless Damascus San Mai – Silver Flow Pattern

Pre-hardened San Mai knife steel with a hard stainless steel core clad on both sides with 67-layer stainless Damascus in our Silver Flow pattern.

The San Mai construction gives you a solid core running through the centre of the billet to form the cutting edge, while the stainless Damascus cladding creates the decorative pattern on the sides of the finished blade.

Supplied already hardened and tempered to approximately 58–60 HRC, this steel is ready for stock-removal knife making without additional heat treatment.

Cut out your blade profile, grind the bevels, finish to your preferred grit and etch to bring out the contrast in the stainless Damascus cladding. Keep the steel cool during grinding to avoid affecting the existing heat treatment.
