Bolster R30, pre-shaped guard/front

These stamped out bolsters save time when fitting a stick tang blade to the handle.

Select brass, copper or nickel silver under Options.

The bolster is about 30 x 19 mm and 3 mm thick, with a slit of approx 3.3 x 13 mm cut out.

These are stamped out and most blade/bolster combinations will need some work to fit together.

Filing the sides of the blade tang using a hand file or dremel is a good way to get a tigth fit.

Often the face of the bolster is sanded flat on a piece of glass or tile to get it perfectly flat, then sanded to the wanted finish before being attached to the blade.

This is a lot easier than trying to sand it with the blade in.

Please note on  the page for the blade you are looking at, what the right bolster is as these will not fit all blades. R30 is the most common bolster shape for the Nordic stick tang blades we stock at Nordic Edge.
