Curly Maple Wood Handle Block – 28 x 40 x 130mm

This Curly Maple Wood Handle Block is a favourite among knife makers for its vibrant, shimmering grain known as “curly” figure – a natural pattern that gives the wood a striking 3D effect. Sourced from the USA, this pale-toned hardwood offers beauty and versatility in equal measure.

Use as-is to showcase the natural chatoyance, or apply leather dye and sand back lightly to emphasise the curly stripes even further.

Each block varies in colour and figure due to the nature of the wood. Some may contain small holes or inclusions that can be filled with super glue. Occasional spalting may also be present, adding darker lines and character.

Thanks to its light colour and open grain, curly maple is an excellent choice for those stabilising their own handle materials with Resinex or Cactus Juice.
