Description
Flecked Jarrah Wooden Knife Handle Scales
Jarrah (Eucalytpus marginata) is a large Australian hardwood tree with deep red heartwood and paler outer sapwood. It has an even, course grained structure with some fiddleback patterns, making it a popular furniture, woodworking and knife making timber. It weights around 820 kg per cubic meter, making it a fairly "light" hardwood as Australian native woods go.
Set of 2 knife handle scales with black flecks that highlight the deep, red colour.
Each scale is about 140 x 40 x 10 mm, dry and straight.
Due to the grain structure and distinct colouring, all scales are slightly different but similar to the ones pictured.
The scales were sanded and had Uncle Bjorn's Handle Finish applied for the photos to show the flecked grain structure.
