Norton IB8 Combination India Sharpening Stone
The Norton IB8 is a durable, double-sided aluminium oxide oilstone designed for sharpening knives, chisels, woodworking tools and other straight-edged cutting tools.
The coarse 150 grit side is used for repairing dull or worn edges and establishing a new bevel. Follow with the fine 400 grit side to refine the edge and produce a clean, sharp finish.
Norton India stones are known for their durability and slow wear, making the IB8 an excellent workshop stone for regular sharpening.
The stone is pre-filled with oil during manufacture. Apply a small amount of sharpening oil to the surface during use to improve sharpening action and help prevent metal particles from clogging the stone. Norton likewise recommends oil with its India benchstones to improve sharpening and minimise loading.
