Description

Stainless Steel Damascus billet in RINGs pattern

Damascus or forge-welded steel billet from 2 stainless steels; 9Cr18Mov and 10Cr15CoMoV.

These are approx 58-60 HRC, fully hardened and tempered already.

Roughly 110 layers, see Product Option for cost per size.

Note: These need to be kept cool while working to not ruin the temper, like all other pre-heat treatment grinding.

These are difficult to drill, being hardened.

Being stainless steel, these can be difficult to etch and you may need to experiment before finding a good process.

Try Ferric Chloride, if this does not work try something more aggressive like warm hydrochloric acid.

No heat treatment advice is provided as they are hardened already.

As all stainless blade steels the recommendation is to not heat treat more than once and to not forge these due to complex alloy composition.
