Description
Takefu 67 Layer Stainless Damascus Clad VG10 Japanese Stainless Steel
Takefu VG10 Core 67 Layer is a premium Japanese stainless laminated steel with a VG10 cutting core and 67-layer stainless Damascus cladding in 3 x 60 x 540 mm.
The VG10 core provides a high-performance stainless cutting edge, while the stainless Damascus cladding creates a fine layered pattern across the blade.
With 33 layers of stainless Damascus on each side of the VG10 core, this construction gives makers the opportunity to create a Damascus appearance while retaining a stainless-steel blade construction. This combination of high-carbon VG10 and stainless damascus results in a very subtle pattern - barely visible layers compared to more traditional high-contrast damascus or forge welded steels. Creating an elegant, understated knife even after acid etching.

Note: Our own process for this steel would be a higher tempering temp at 175C for a slightly tougher blade (350 F).
Ideal for: chef knives, kitchen knives, Japanese-style knives and stainless Damascus projects.
The photo is showing example of a completed knife in this steel - the product is a steel bar and not a knife.
