The material in this pair is Coyote Brown Canvas Micarta, a popular material in knife making due to ease of working and good looks.

It is a man-made material, consisting of layers of canvas embedded in resin, yet has a wood-like, warm feel in use.

Micarta takes a great shine if buffed or polished.
