Description

Ferric Chloride Powder

Mix with water to create etchant solution used to etch damascus steel.

300 grams of powdered ferric chloride mixed with 1 liter of destilled water makes 1 liter of "ferric solution".

This ferric solution is then diluted again with water to create the final etchant for the knife to be placed in.

We recommend using a gentle etching solution of 1:4.

Meaning 1 liter of ferric solution to 4 liters of water.

Example:

To make a total volume of 2 liters of etchant for steel, this takes 120 grams of powdered ferric and 1,6 l of distilled water.
