15N20 Nickel Carbon steel
15N20 is popular with makers of damascus due to high nickel content of 2.0% which resist the etch and leaves shiny layers.
The steel IS NOT annealed and harder to work than our other carbon steels.
15N20 is a blade steel on it's own, bascially 1075 with nickel added but is usually combined with a carbon steel like 1084 into damascus over being used as-is. The nickel makes the steel tougher than "plain" 1075.
