Nordic Knife Design Visent 100 knife, Curly Birch

NKD is the knife brand of Dennis Holmbacka from Finland, mixing old Finnish knife traditions with new advancements in steel and design. The result is a unique combination of quality blades made in proven steels, often mixing traditional blade shapes and grinds with modern tang construction, carry options and weight distribution. 

The NKD Visent 100 is  a Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel blade with an increased scandi grind. Sandvik 14C28N is an upgrade of 12C27 steel used by many manufacturers around the world. The 14C28N steel from which Visent is made has a low carbon content (about 0.6%), but thanks to the addition of nitrogen, a higher level of hardness of the blade has been achieved. The addition of nitrogen also improves the steel's corrosion resistance and edge retention.

Dedicated forest knifes

NKD Visent 100 has been specially developed for bushcraft and hunting. The blade of the knife is thicker than a typical puukko at about 3.8mm, which allows you to shred branches alongside other standard work in the course of camping. The weight of the handle has been reduced thanks to the large cutout, so the ready-to-use knife is well-balanced and ideal for use in the woods. 

The Knife has a set of Curly Birch scales fitted with 1/4" Brass Corby bolts and includes a Leather sheath.
